APPLE??...

My name is Apollonia Poliseno. I am sure you rarely hear that name. I actually never met an Apollonia myself. The name Apollonia comes from my decease grandmother. She passed away a few months before I was born. My relatives tell me that I have many of her characteristics. My grandmother was a loving person, a caring person and a wonderful cook. I also look identical to her. We both have an enormous bright smile, light brown eyes, small hands, and an hour-glass shape body. My father tells me that my grandmother and my personalities are alike. He told me that certain little things mean a lot to us.

I find it amusing when people say my name. When a professor calls attendance they say (for example) "Anna, Joseph, Bob, Ray........Apollonia." I always hear this long pause before my name is called. I never herd it mispronounce, however I hear everyone say Apollonia romantically. When a professor calls my name everyone tells me it is a beautiful name.

Apollonia is on my birth certificate, my friends that i grew up with know me as Paulette. My parents thought people would make fun of me if my name was Apollonia. On all of my important papers such as bank books, checks from work, license, etc. they are all under Apollonia. When I applied to St.Johns everything was under Apollonia and my Friends ask me "who is Apollonia"?

When I first started college I was proud to be called Apollonia because of the wonderful comments I heard about my name. I am proud my father kept the Italian tradition by naming me after his mother.

a LiTTLe intro.

Hi, my name is Apollonia Poliseno. I was born and raised in Queens New York. I am a responsible and independent individual. I attend St. Johns University as a full time student. Currently I am a Freshman. I enjoy St. Johns University. I received a scholarship to St. Johns. I graduated from Benjamin Cardozo High School, located in Bayside New York. My major is Physicians Assistant. i enjoy working with a doctor(s). Currently I am a Medical Assistant for a Dermatologist. Douglaston Dermatology, located in Douglaston New York is a private practice runned by two Dermatologist, Dr.Osman and Dr.Blanco. I feel overwhelmed to be working with both Dr.Osman and Dr.Blanco. They have shown me that hard work and many years of school leads to a wonderful life of curing patients with acne, skin cancer, dry skin, etc. They inspire me to go to school and try my best. Both Dr.Osman and Dr.Blanco are also in the field of Cosmetology. Many people love cosmetic supplies for the face, body, feet, everywhere. The most recent trend in Cosmetology is laser hair removal. Douglaston Dermatology purchased a brand new laser in September. Everyone that has tried it loved it! I have gotten my underarms lasered recently and I also believe it was one of the best things i have ever done to my body. It is a great feeling to know that I do not have to shave my underarms anymore. I definitely recommend laser hair removal to everyone. I love my job for many reasons. One of the most important reasons I love my job is the money and great benefits. My co-workers are amazing and down to earth people. I love to work with people and especially help the doctor as she cures a patient. I also love my job because it is a big experience for me and strives me to have a goal of becoming a physicians assistant. I honestly feel lucky to have a job as a medical assistant. It makes me feel like a responsible and independent individual.
