ITALY

This is a picture of Italy that I found somewhere on the Internet! Doesn't it look beautiful? I think Italy is so pretty, even from far away it looks breath taking! The water is so much different from the water in New York. It looks so clean and the air look so nice and moist, not like here where it is hot and humid and you feel like you are going to die!
I can't wait to go here in THREE MONTHS!
Yes I am counting down the days =D

The Cruise Ship!

I am so excited...Three more months I am going on this Ship! It is called "Brilliance of the seas" It leaves from Barcelona, Spain and travels to Italy, France, Turkey, Greece, So many beautiful places! I can not wait! We are going on a twelve day cruise (Me my boyfriend, his parents and his sister) I just can't wait! I am paying it off too!
Isn't it beautiful?

NEVER ENDS!

You know...It just never ends!
I can't understand, I took the whole weekend to do all of my reports and projects, and it just does not end! I went to my Monday and Wednesday classes and they all have these extra credit assignments and one a few review papers and test!
It just does not end! One day i am like. 'YEAH no more work! I look at my syllabus and everything is done." The next day I go to class and there is more work, and more extra credit...Students that don't show up have to do five page long papers and people that do show up to class have to write 1 page papers. When does it end? You know the exciting part is that school is ending in four weeks, the sun is out, its nice and warm outside!
And the cruise is in Three MONTHS =D
Something to look forward to!
Oh guesss what! I am meeting up with my freshman advisor soon! He is the worse! i wrote a journal about him! YAY I can't wait (Exaggerating)

OUTLINING.

EXAMPLE OF AN OUTLINE:

Outlining
It might prove useful to organize the ideas that suggest themselves during the freewriting and clustering exercises into a preliminary outline form. It is possible to write a paper without an outline, but it might suggest that your paper lacks organization if it proves impossible to write an outline that describes the thinking process behind your paper. Outlining never hurt; how helpful it is depends on what kind of thinker you are. At the least, a tentative outline can suggest areas in which your paper needs additional work or supporting details to bolster main ideas or, on the other hand, areas which have too much emphasis and need to be pruned down to avoid an imbalance. It might also help you to see how ideas are related and where connections or transitions are necessary between sections of your paper. Furthermore, the outline will help you visualize how ideas fit within the thesis statement that is taking shape in your mind. Remember that your outline is only a tentative skeleton to hang ideas on; limbs can be lopped off or added as the writing proceeds. Your instructor might require you to submit a formal outline for approval before you write your paper or to go along with your final draft. If that is so, this tentative outlining process will serve you well later on.

CLUSTERING

Clustering
Clustering is similar to another process called Brainstorming. Clustering is something that you can do on your own or with friends or classmates to try to find inspiration in the connection between ideas. The process is similar to freewriting in that as you jot down ideas on a piece of paper or on the blackboard, you mustn't allow that ugly self-censor to intrude and say that your idea (or anyone else's) is dumb or useless. Write it down anyway. In Clustering, you jot down only words or very short phrases. Use different colored pens as ideas seem to suggest themselves in groups. Use printing or longhand script to suggest that ideas are main thoughts or supportive ideas. Don't bother to organize too neatly, though, because that can impede the flow of ideas. Don't cross anything out because you can't tell where an idea will lead you. When you get a few ideas written down, you can start to group them, using colored circles or whatever. Draw linking lines as connections suggest themselves.
Below is a finished example of Clustering. It is printed here with permission of the aforementioned Thruston Parry

MY Journal.

This is a journal in response to Prof. Marsh's comment.
I must say that I have heard in the past that the way I write expresses my voice. Another words when I write " I hate you!!!!!'
With all the explanation points...You know how I am talking. If I write "VANILLAA" You know that I am screaming in joy of VANILLA!
So prof Marsh thinks that I should not do that. I think that is wrong!
This is a journal! MYYYYY journal! (you see what I mean)
But seriously! This is my journal this is how I write, this is my writing! What I put in my journal doesn't make my grade! It's about the Quality of my writing. There is no list of "Qualification" So why is he telling me how to write. he said "PRETEND A DEAN IS READING THIS"
I am not cursing or sounding trashy! You know I gossip so much when I write that I don't even care if the person that I wrote about is reading this! Who reads this anyway? I write One journal a day..Some people write One a week, and no one reads that!
I can BET that no more than Three people read my journal (s) So I am going to write the way I want to write. Thanks for you criticism, but this is a jornal, You don't have to read it. Matter of fact stop reading!
---I am just kidding, sometimes I write and my mind gets all crazy, when I write in a journal I feel like I am writing to myself and having a conversation to myself. It makes me feel good about what I am writing. I don't talk to anyone about my problems and my feelings, I write it!

bad day at work.

Have you ever had a bad day at work? Today I had a bad day at work. My office manager, Stacey went on vacation and they left this other lady in charge. Her name is Arlene, if Arlene reads this, I do not care! She is the worst! I can not stand her! She is so bi-polar! She is nice to you one day, Kisses your ass the next day and acts totally rude the next day, then ignors you the day after. This is how she is! Five different personalities a week!
I can understand that she is the oldest in the office, but they left the WRONG person in charge! When Stacey went on vacation, she left me hours and things to do when I come into work. So I come into work today and Arlene tells me that I have to file the charts, pull the charts, and fix the charts. That is Jaqulines job! Why do I have to do someone elses job? what is she going to do when she comes in? Sit behind the desk...Which is my job to sit behind the desk!
You know I told them that I need the hours and I need the money and they sent me home earlly because there was nothing to do. She made me do everything fast, and she kept saying things like "oh you have nothing to do?" She sees what I am doing and she has to say that! Then she's like "Don't help margo!" thats not fare! I hate that! My job is to help her!
I make the charts nice and neat, in order beautiful! You name it! And she has to tell me what to do!
She is so annoyig I hope she gets fired! I hate that jerk! she even had the nerve to call me friday night and complain about Margo and Stacey and telling me how some one is going to be replace "HINT HINT" It's definitly not me! I go there 5 days a week, NEVERRRR came in late, I did my entire job! I never leave anything for tomorrow like she does.

EASy WAY out

I can agree that everyone wants an A..but they don't know what it takes to get to that grade.
I can also agree how students just want to pass...they do not care what the grade is...as long as it is NoT and "F" its fine.
I think the work is easy to say..but hard to do. In order to get an "A" you have to do good the ENTIRE semster.
I see how students start off bad...and then do well and expect and "A." Some students think they can miss the first couple of weeks of school and miss a test here and there and still get that "A" because they decided to show up two or three weeks straight.
I do not think its right for a professor to say "your garde is based on improvment.I think the grade should be based on the entire semester.
I have seen it happen, when a student NEVER showed up the first couple of weeks, but after the mid-term, that is when they started trying. I have sene the teacher say "wow, great improvment!"...yeahh OK..more like nice try!
I agree with #10! DONt look for the easy way out.

a budget!

OK, so I have a budget.
My father does not want me going on this cruise in July with my boyfriend, because of obvious reasons! I am daddy's little girl, I am the only girl, I bring so much life to my family...my father just does not want me to go!
I want to go so bad! I told my dad that I would do anything and everything to go! I am dead serious I will do anything!
The cruise is going to cost about three thousand dollars. It is a twelve night cruise. It sails from Barcelona Spain...to Greece..Italy..Turkey..I don't remember but it goes to a lot of places. The plane ride from here(La Guardia Airport) to Italy will cost about fifteen hundred dollars. That is four thousand Five hundred dollars. Than it is costing about seven hundred dollars for insurance, one thousand dollars for a rent-a-car when we are in Italy...and about one thousand dollars in spending money.
This trip is costing SEVEN thousand dollars! so now I have a budget of seven thousand dollars!
My father is putting down three thousand dollars. My boyfriend and I have to come up with the rest. Every two weeks I am going to have to give my dad Four hundred fifty dollars...by July first, he will have the four thousand dollars!
I have not spent too much money on gas...food...clothes...you name it!
I have been figuring out how many days a week I have to work to make this amount of money. I can do it!
I already made my first payment! I think it is worth it! I can't wait to go
=DD

i want a "good grade"

I want a good grade. First off i have to say..why is my font different?
i did not change it, it did it on its own...weird computer.
anyway! I want a good grade! You know I come to class every single day, I try so hard not to miss one single class! I participate and do my work. I can honestly say that I hate test! I always forget things, and I can not remember everything. Whenever I get a review sheet, it usually has fifty broad questions, which is annoying. You never know how Specific the teacher is until the test day comes, you have the test in your hand and say "wow, I didn't know I had to study this part!"
That is so annoying, when the teacher marks questions wrong because you were not specific enough, or because you forgot to mention ONE thing...it is totally wrong.
I can not understand how some students show up SOMETimES and they get a better grade than me! For all I know they probably cheat! I hate that! I come in EVERY dAy, EaRLLy, I do my homework and participate, and all its worth is 10% of the final grade.
I can't see how test are 75-80% of a final grade.
Just because I score an 80...doesn't mean that I didn't study hard...it means "there is just too much stuff too remember!"
I can't stand it when I come to class everyday and people who sleep during the entire class, come in late...they do better than me! I can't believe it! they should have attendance 30% of the grade...Test 30% of the grade...Homework, projects and papers 30% of the grade..and 10 points for participating!
If I were the teacher I would give everyone the benefit of the doubt...I think that when students fail, it gives a bad look towards the teacher..maybe the teacher was too strict...too much work...too hard..
the worst is when you do SOO much work...and it's still not good enough..I hate that! oh and there should be 10 points extra credit in every class!

For some werid reason I have been having these times when I wake up and I amagine that I am late for school or work. It is the weriedest thing. I always have this fear that my phone turns off and my alarm clock won't go off and then I feel like I am late for work.
I am on Spring Break and I have been waking up at 6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I get up like "oh my god I am going to be late for school." And then I look at the clock and then i'm just like wait but I dont have school...I am off.
It is just so werid, and I spend the rest of my day like upset.
Now Steve is calling me and I am mad at him because he took two hours and a half to get ready. I just can't believe it. I don't understand how in the world it takes teo full hours AND A HALF to freakin get ready! It makes me so upset. I can take a shower, brush my teeth, shave my entire freakin body, dry my hair, straighten my haoir, get dressed, do my make up and it takes fourty five minutes. I can't understand!
What the heck is wrong with this kid. I just don't get it! I did not answer my hpone because now he is going to wait for me! This is just unbeleivable, he is waiting for me and i keep typing! i am so bad!

Virus

I woke up this morning with the stomach virus. I was so upset! I felt so dizzy the entire day, when I ate my dinner, which was a bad salad...I threw up. I couldn't believe it. I was sleeping and I woke up with a sudden "LiTT" then I run out of my bed and I tried to make it to the bathroom, guess what? I threw up on the carpet.
I did not make it to the bathroom on time, and so I threw up on the carpet. A brand new carpet. I was so upset, I had a bad headache, and everything.
My entire house woke up because they heard me vomit, I felt so bad for my mom because today is her birthday and she was cleaning my throw up. She saw the entire carpet covered in vomit, and when she saw it i said "Happy Birthday ma!"
Oh my God I felt so bad. My mom is the best! she cleans everything for me, she is completely the best.
Thank god I didn't have work or school. This always happeneds, whenever I have a break or off from school or work, i always get sick!
I do not know what it is maybe i am just meant to be busy.

Pagent

Have you ever been in a pagent? I have been in two beauty pagents. When I was about seventeen years old, I was in an Italian pagent called "Queen Di Constantinople." This is an Italian pagent that is held every year, in June.
My parents put me in the pagent two years ago, and I won First place. Of course, I was in complete shock! I had to send in an essay, which said "what are your goals? What do you want to do with your life? What school do you want to go to? who is your role model?" All of those things.
So i sent in my essay and they picked me to be in the pagent. I represented "Palo Del Cole," which is my town in Italy. I went again fifteen other girls and they all represented their town. When we went to New Jersey, the place the pagent was held. I had to wear an elegant gown and answered a couple of questions, mainly the same questions i had to write about in the essay. There were four judges, in the end they picked one winner, and the winner was me!
I was so proud of myself that i won! I couldn't believe it! Even my parents couldn't believe it!
I always feel that there is always someone better than you! I couldn't believe that I won.
I was crowned Queen and the other girls are princesses.
So last night I went to a dinner dance, at MAESTROS in the Bronx. It was beautiful that they honored me and the quest of honors, who picked me to be the Queen. My boyfriend and my mom was so proud of me! and my brothers and my dad were working, they couldn't come.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Are you tired of shaving, waxing or tweezing? Do you find yourself upset because you have a ton of hair and you just want to get rid of it? Laser hair removal, the new and improved technology to removing your un-wanted hair. According to the New York Daily News, on November 12, 2006, “Laser hair removal is the newest trend of the century”. Many people are curious and want to do it.

Many of us look in the mirror and do not want the un-wanted hair on our body, face, back, legs, toes, underarms, you name it! Many people are tired of waxing and then the hairs grow back in two weeks. Others are tired of shaving because the hair comes back with in two days, and tweezing…how far can you go with that?

Laser hair removal technology can solve all of these problems. What actually is Laser hair removal? I for one have done this experiment on my under-arms, and I have lasered many patients because I am a medical assistant and I work for a dermatologist in Douglaston New York.

When you make an appointment for a consult, the person doing the laser will tell you everything you need to know about laser hair removal. The laser is connected to a three foot long wire, which is hooked up to a computer. The head of the laser is about one inch long and one inch wide (square shaped).

When you are put in the laser room, your eyes are completely covered with very dark goggles. You will not be able to see what is going on during the procedure. The person(s) that are doing the laser wear strong sunglasses to protect their eyes from the laser.

Once the goggles are on, an ultra sound gel is put onto the area being lasered. This gel is very cold and helps the laser move smoothly. Once you are set the laser is put on and the procedure begins.

A bunch of consent forms most be signed before the procedure. The reason for one consent form is because there are possible side effects that have to be clarified. Other consent forms protect the person(s) who is doing the procedure.

The laser starts off on a certain level. The level is set according to your skin color, hair color, eye color, and depending on how bad you burn in the sun. After every treatment the level rises to get a better response.

The laser works best on whiter skin and darker hairs. The laser can sense the difference between the dark hairs and the light skin. When a dark person with dark hairs or pale skin with blonde hairs does the treatment, the laser is set at the lowest and slowest level because it has to be extra careful on sensing the difference between the hairs and the skin.

The feeling of the laser is more so of a tiny pinch. It feels like a rubber band snapping at every single hair. You can definitely feel the laser shooting out the hairs one by one. You can even smell a burning smell, which is a smell of the molecule burning.

It is not painful, it is tolerable. The treatment takes anywhere between five minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated. For instance, if the upper lip is being treated it takes about five minutes. If the underarms are being treated it takes fifteen minutes, if the chest is being treated it takes about a half hour.

It takes about five to seven treatments for the hairs to completely go away. Every session, forty percent of the hairs are completely gone. If you do the math it takes anywhere from five to seven sessions. According to Dr.Osman, she said “it depends how much hair a person has, tells us how many sessions we need to do.”

Many people that are considering laser hair removal ask, “How much is this going to cost me?” Of course since computers and knowledge is involved, it sounds extremely expensive to have laser hair removal. Depending on the amount of hair taken off, adds up the price. For instance Dr.Osman charges two hundred dollars for the upper lip, per session. Remember it takes about five to seven sessions. It is worth is if the average female spends about ten dollars a week to wax their upper lip.

There are not that many disadvantages because this technology is brand new, and has only been out for about ten years. Dr. Blanco said, “Even if there are disadvantages, science is so far advanced that we can fix the difficulty.” Scientist predicts that this can be completely permanent jugging by their studies. Remember, this is an experiment.

Laser hair removal has many advantages. It is definitely worth the money, worth the patience and worth the results. All the patients I have done laser hair removal on are all pleased with their results. The thought of never having to shave, tweeze, or wax ever again is the best thing to hear before going to the beach, or doing any kind of activity that shows skin.
