Don't you sometimes wish you had a break? Well I am actually on break right now. I figured since I am in St.Johns, waiting for my next class to start...I decided to come to the library and write in my journal.
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are my most hectic days. On Wednesday I wake up in the morning and go to work. Right after work, I rush home, change and come to school. On Thursdays I wake up so early in the morning that it is still dark outside, come to school until twelve in the afternoon, run home, and go straight to work. I feel like I have no time for anything.
My Saturdays are the worse days, however the fastest day of the week. I go to work from eleven in the morning all the way to twelve midnight. I know thirteen hours of work for one day.
I have two jobs. I work for a dermatologist and I work for my dad. My father owns a business in Astoria, "Astoria Sports Complex." I run the children's birthday parties that are only held on Saturdays. I work for the dermatologist on the weekdays. Sunday is my only day off.
Today I went into work (the dermatologist) and she told me that she wants me to learn how it is to be the receptionist, since one of the girls are quiting. I feel so overwhelmed because now I have more hours and more things to learn.
I am taking six classes this Spring 2007 semester. I have so much work to do, it's crazy! Well i am not really complaining about school. I have six classes and today is the forth week of school and today is my first test... which is going to be easy.
Sometimes I feel like I need a break. I can't wait to go away this summer for three weeks. I will wake up late every single day, rest as much as possible, and enjoy my life. I can't wait for school to end. I believe we have ten weeks of school left, which is really nothing.

Wow, this is like the second or third entry I've read where someone has told me their hectic schedules. I feel extremely lazy compared to all of you! It's unbelieveable that you have 6 classes AND two jobs...I have 5 classes and one job. I'm not going to lie to you, I only work from 12-2 everyday. Yes, that's only 2 hours and it is not all that stressful. I knew college was stressful but I got the idea that it was more laid back than high school. In HS, we had 4 (or most of you 7) classes a day, then we played sports, and etc...I was very stressed in high school, especially toward the end of junior year and all through senior year. I felt relieved to come here to St. Johns (and I would like to take this time to defend this school because I happen to like it!) Anyway, in college, we have like 3 classes a day (some more) but even if you have more, it means on other days you have one or maybe no classes at all. It boggles my mind that you have sooo much to do, yet you are so positive! I would be writing an entry about how much life stinks because I have no time to myself. Instead, you wake up everyday and look forward to whatever it is you are doing...good for you!!! You inspire me...
Looks like me and Katie are keeping up with the same blogs, because you are the third one that I've read that described some sort of "hectic" day. (And don't tell anyone, but yours seems the most hectic)
Work can be extremely stressful, especially combined with school, but in the end it's always (or at least usually) worth it.
During the holidays, working at a liquor store can be hell. I've worked fifteen hour days, and thought I would kill myself.
A lot of people will tell you, though, that work builds character, and it makes sense. I mean... once college ends, is it all supposed to get easier? Of course not!
You just need to create a balance in your work/school schedule. Maybe you should take an extra day off? Do you really need the money THAT much, to take away from your sanity? (Assuming that since you pay 60$ for a hair cut and blow dry, maybe you do?)
I'm sure you have heard it a bajillion and a half times, but try to see each day in a positive way, and know that when the time comes, all of your hard work will pay off.
Take care, and best of luck this Saturday!
